The original letter of invitation with the wet ink signature should be used to get the apostille (although a copy can be used too).
The letter must be certified by an FCDO-registered solicitor or notary

Our FCDO-registered solicitors can certify and apostille all types of invitation letters.

Please note that we cannot help with writing the letter or confirming its accuracy. Our solicitors will certify only your existing invitation letter as an original or a true copy for the apostille service.

We can return the legalised documents via DHL or Royal Mail (next-day service), or you can collect them in person.

Once we have all the information, the team will assess your enquiry and provide you with a detailed quotation.

Step two:

Once your letter of invitation has been apostilled, we will email you a scanned copy.

If you are not collecting your apostilled document from our London office, we will provide you with the tracking number the courier gave.

Your fast-track apostille options

Choose the turnaround that fits your deadline.

Option 1: Next business day

Your deed poll must arrive at our office by 9:30 am. It will be ready to collect from around 3:30 pm the following business day

Option 2: 3 to 4 day service

Documents arriving after 9:30 am are processed on the 3 to 4 business day track. This is our most popular option.

Option 3: e-Apostille in 5 to 48 hours

The e-apostille is a digital version of the apostille certificate. If your document qualifies, it is usually completed within 24 hours, but may take 2 working days, depending on the FCDO’s workload.

Most ink-signed deed polls require the paper apostille instead. Contact us if you are unsure which applies to you.

Do I have to come to your office?

No, you don’t need to attend our office in Westminster. Documents can be sent by courier or by post. We recommend using a tracked service if you send your documents by post. We return your documents in the same way.

You are, of course, welcome to drop the documents off in person. However, delivering in person requires that you have an order number. Please make sure you contact our office first.

When should I apostille my UK invitation letter for visits, studies, or work?

You must get an apostille for your invitation letter if an organisation or agency requests it in your home country or the UK. Check if you also need to apostille supporting documents.

What organisations need a sponsorship letter apostille?

Several organisations might require an apostille for your invitation letter; these are:

Officials in your home country: Immigration, tax and other official agencies in your home country may ask for an apostille with your letter of invitation as part of their process for issuing exit visas or for other purposes related to your travel to the UK.

UK authorities, companies, and academic institutions do not usually require a UK apostille certificate for an invitation letter originating in the UK.

Can an apostille be obtained for a letter from outside the UK?

You can apply for an apostille if you are not in the UK. You can apply online via the FCDO website, or if you are unsure what you need to do, get help from an apostille agent like us to handle the entire process.
