FAQs

Both long-form and short-form birth certificates can be apostilled, but the long-form is generally preferred for international use.
If the FCDO doesn’t recognise the signature on your birth certificate, it may be rejected for an apostille. This can happen with very old or new certificates. If rejected, you can:

To get a copy of your birth certificate and other documents such as death certificates, marriage certificates, or civil partnership certificates in England or Wales, you will have to register with the General Register Office (GRO) website.

Or you can provide the details, and we can order a replacement certificate on your behalf.

If your birth certificate was issued outside the UK, it must be notarised before it can be apostilled. You’ll need to provide the original document, which we will verify for authenticity. Our FCDO-registered notary will create and notarise a certified “true copy” of the document. This notarised copy will be used to obtain the apostille.

Simply contact us with your document details and service requirements. We’ll provide a personalised quote and get started as soon as you’re ready.
