Apostille Service for J. P. Moore Radian Asset, NY, US

FAQs

A registered FCDO agent performs an apostille service. The agent performs their apostille service after hiring them to get an apostille on your behalf. The service usually includes checking that your documents are eligible for an apostille, going to the Legalisation Office on your behalf to get the apostille stamp and returning the documents to you.

Only the FCDO can issue an apostille in the UK. So everyone else offering to get an apostille for you must be a registered agent with the FCDO to organise the apostille on your behalf.

No (and yes).

Until 29th December 2023, there was a same-day apostille service. Unfortunately, the same day service office in London is now closed.

There is an exception but only under specific circumstances and only for certain documents.

  • Documents linked to repatriation that are clearly time-sensitive
  • Time-limited documents linked to transport of animals
  • Documents with evidence relating to the welfare of a child
  • Documents with evidence relating to the welfare of a vulnerable adult
  • Commercially urgent documents, for example; certificates relating to insolvency searches; documents relating to corporate transactions with a specified completion date that the Next-Day Apostille service cannot meet; or short notice private client documents.

We get it. So many different terms are used to describe getting an apostille. So, to get some clarity for these terms, we’ve written a guide that tries to explain what all the different terms mean – and that often, they mean precisely the same. Confused? Let’s hope that reading our article will make the terms clear. Please read our article Terms and meanings explained.
