Note: Algeria deposited its accession on 5 November 2025, and the Apostille Convention entered into force for Algeria on 9 July 2026. Until 9 July 2026, applicants will still need the “apostille + consular attestation” route.
Algeria has not acceded to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention (yet). Any document heading for Algeria must pass through two UK steps:
- 1UK FCDO apostille – proves the UK signature or seal.
- 2Consular legalisation at the Consulate of Algeria in London adds the final stamp of authentication.
We are an FCDO-registered agent and visit the Milton Keynes legalisation office every day.
For documents destined for Algeria, we then lodge the apostilled originals at the consulate and return them to you once the consular stamp is ready.
