The deed poll apostille process simplified
From sending us your deed poll to getting it back apostilled, here is the full process.
Step 1: Send or bring us your certified deed poll
Contact our office with the following details:
- Do you have the original or a copy?
- Which country will the deed poll be used in?
- Does it need translation?
- How soon do you need the apostille?
Once we have everything, we assess your enquiry and send you a personalised quote. If you accept, we issue an invoice to be paid. Then, you send us your deed poll by post or hand it in at our London office. We accept originals and copies.
Step 2: We confirm and apostille the document
An FCDO-registered solicitor reviews your deed poll and confirms whether it is an original or a certified copy. If you do not have the original deed poll, a certified copy can be apostilled instead.
Before the FCDO-registered solicitor or notary can certify the copy, they will need confirmation that it is a true copy of the original. This verification can come from the deed poll office or the solicitor who assisted in creating the deed.
Once confirmed, the document is submitted to the FCDO. The FCDO then verifies the solicitor’s registered signature and stamp before attaching the apostille certificate.
Step 3: We return your apostilled deed poll
Once the FCDO issues the apostille, we send you a scanned copy by email. Your original is then returned by DHL tracked and insured delivery with a tracking number. Collection from our London office is also available.
