Not always. Some UK documents must be submitted as originals, while others can be apostilled as certified copies.
Documents that must be originals
Birth, marriage, death, ACRO Police and DBS certificates must be submitted as official originals. Photocopies and scans are not accepted, even if solicitor-certified.
Documents where a copy may be sufficient
Degrees, academic transcripts, passports and many company documents can be apostilled as solicitor-certified copies.
Send us a clear scan first. We’ll confirm whether we can verify it or need the original.
Only have a PDF?
Electronically issued documents may also be eligible. However, we may need to verify them with the issuer before arranging certification and an apostille.

Sending and receiving your documents
Post your documents, drop them off at our Westminster office or upload eligible documents online.
Once completed, collect your apostilled documents or choose UK or international delivery.
Important: Always check whether the receiving authority in Vietnam requires the original document or accepts an apostilled certified copy.
